One very important and often overlooked aspect of daily life is a good night sleep. For the children in Foster Care this is often a luxury that they go without simply because they do not have a bed of their own. Having a good night sleep is so critical to the development of children yet many either share a bed with other siblings or even worse sleep on the floor or a pile of blankets. Health and safety codes require a child to have their own bed yet many simply do not. For families that are struggling to stay together this is considered a luxury that they just cannot afford.
On May 1st, we came alongside the FTC Temecula chapter to bed and distribute 60 beds to local foster families. See the incredible impact of the event below.
