Representing For The Children at the White House

On Thursday, November 13,2025, President Trump and the First Lady signed the Fostering the Future Executive Order at the White House, and we are honored to say that our very own President, Wendy McMahan, and board member, Dr. Samantha Orr, attended the historic signing.

They represented the many volunteers, churches, and children who have been through our programs, including Royal Family KIDS Camp, Royal Family KIDS Mentoring, and Bridge to Belonging. Also in attendance with President and Melania Trump were several political officials, social workers, adoptive and foster families, former foster youth, and several representatives of faith-based organizations. All gathered to recognize and support an investment in the futures of children and youth who have experienced foster care, and again, we are proud that Wendy and Samantha were there to represent For The Children’s commitment to ensuring every child experiences belonging, stability, and the opportunity to thrive. Our mission to protect, advocate for, and empower those who have experienced relational trauma has taken one more step forward.

Addressing Difficult Challenges in Child Welfare

The Fostering the Future Executive Order is a part of the Be Best initiative spearheaded by the First Lady. At a glance, the order secures educational opportunities and scholarships for children in the foster care community, but it also secures the following:

·       It modernizes the child welfare system by updating data management policies and regulations, promoting new platforms and systems, and expanding technological solutions.

·       It establishes a Fostering the Future initiative, which creates educational and employment opportunities, online resources, the reallocation of funds, flexibility in education and training vouchers, and scholarships for youth aging out of the foster care system.

·       It maximizes partnerships with faith-based organizations and protects foster and adoptive families of faith from State and local policies otherwise prohibiting participation.

We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to stand alongside national leaders, child-welfare advocates, and partners from across the country and to represent thousands of volunteers, churches, and community partners who serve children through our programs. As we move forward after this momentous occasion, we continue to stand firm knowing that together, with God as our guide and Christ as our example, we can foster the future—one child, one relationship, and one moment at a time.
